Portfolios

Portfolios: These represent a student's work over a period of time or course.  Portfolios typically show off a student's best work.  Some work samples that may be displayed in a portfolio are: journals, reports, test results, or projects.

Strengths:Portfolios represent a wide range of student work. They show how a student has learned and achieved their goals. Work included within a portfoio can display higher levels of learning gained by a student.

Weaknesses:Portfolios can be very time consuming to create and review.  Plus, they can be hard to score if students are submitting different types of work.

Role of Technology:  Portfolios may be completed in a binder or on a computer as an e-portfolio.  Projects within an e-portfolio can be technology based.
